How can I get rid of acne that grows on my body?

For years I have had bodily acne all over my back, chest, shoulders, and even a little bit on the back of my arms. I don't have acne on my face. How can I get rid of this? When I showed it to my doctor he said "what am I looking at?" lol. He gave me a medicine that didn't do anything. I want to get rid of this, please help! I've had this for years and I've finally grown tired of it!
