Why when people are viewed as a m do they seem so stupid boring and even dangerous?

Most people I meet I like. Most people seem reasonable and seem to have okay taste in most things. So why then is such terrible music so popular, along with ridiculous reality TV shows, and guys like Justin Bieber are everywhere. Are people just retarded when they get into any kind of a large group?When I talk to people individually about Barack Obama or political issues they don't seem that crazy. So why then is it true that so many think he's a Muslim? or that it matters that he's a Muslim? I don't think I've ever met some one IRL who doesn't "believe" in evolution, yet apparently there is a push to have creationism taught in some schools. Where are all these lunatics?
