Guys problems... please, please help!?

so there's this guy i know... let's call him jake. jake and i have hung out a couple times before [a while ago... last year] and he and my friend jess hooked up [last year]. i saw him again a few days ago, and apparently he really likes me. the problem is his friend gary who i also met a few days ago is also interested in me, and i'm alot more interested in him than jake. the reason mainly being because jake has had with jess [my best friend] and knowing that kind of disgusts me.. and has turned me off of him, even though i do like him. they're both really nice guys... and i don't wanna cause any drama by going for gary. what should i do? do you think it will cause friction between gary and jake if i go for gary? they're good friends, but i've only hung out with them a few times, so i'm hoping that it won't. and what should i tell jake? pleeease advise!
